Vocational Education and Training (VET) Levy
$120 per semester for off campus VET courses;
$50 per semester for on campus VET courses.
VCAL Levy:
A fee of $210 per year will be charged for students involved in Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL).
VET and VCAL payments are compulsory for these courses and
are due and payable in Term 1 at the Kildare Campus Office.

Terms 1 has 6 lessons, terms 2 & 3 each have 10 lessons and Term 4 has 8 lessons (34 for the year).
Accounts are issued at the beginning of each term with fees payable in advance at Kildare Campus Office.

Arrangements for Paying Fees
Payment of School Fees can be made by the following methods:
- Payment in full within 30 days of invoice;
or
- A payment arrangement can be made to make weekly, fortnightly, monthly or quarterly payments.
EFTPOS
This facility is only available at Marcellin House for payment of fees through your debit or credit cards.
Direct Debit System
The system allows Lavalla Catholic College to debit your bank account on a regular basis. Facility to debit from credit cards is also available.
Commencing Wednesday 7th February 2007, funds will be transferred fortnightly. Families have the option of arranging 20 payments (February to November) or an annual plan over 26 fortnights. Monthly option is also available.
If you wish to pay your school fees in this manner you are asked to fill in the PD-C form that is available from the Finance Officer at Marcellin House.
BPAY
Contact your banking institution to make a payment from your cheque, savings or credit card account. When prompted enter our Biller Code and your unique Biller Ref number shown on the invoice.
Periodic Payment Vouchers
This method will allow you to include fee payments to the College in your household budget by spreading the payments over the year.
Payments are made at regular intervals with vouchers based on the following periodic system, covering payment of Tuition Fees and Compulsory Levies calculated on one student (enrolment deposits have not been included in these figures):

Timeliness of Payments
The College’s fee structure and tight budget relies on the prompt payment of school fees. This minimises administration time as well as costs involved in following up outstanding fees.

Enrolment Deposit
A deposit is payable upon acceptance of a new student to the College. The amounts are as follows:
Year 7 $100 (due on enrolment in May)
Years 10, 11 & 12 $25 (due on re-enrolment in August)
The enrolment deposit is non-refundable. Once enrolment is confirmed, the deposit is credited to the school fees account by the amount of the deposit paid, which will reduce your balance.
Family Assistance Available
Education Maintenance Allowance - $430
Holders of current Commonwealth Health Cards:
- Pensioner Concessional Card
- Health Care Card
- Health Benefits Card
To be eligible to apply for this allowance, parents must hold a current card on the first day of:
Term 1: 29th January
Term 3: 16th July
in respect of children aged less than 16 years, in regular attendance at school. Please note that pro-rata payments apply to eligible students turning 16 during the school year.
Application forms are to be completed at the College Administration Office, Marcellin House. It is imperative that the school sights the validity period of the Health Card, as cards issued after the above dates do not allow parents to claim. All applications must be submitted prior to 29th February 2008 to be eligible for the first payment.
The amount of the Education Maintenance Allowance is $301 in the 1st Semester with the balance of $129 being paid in the 2nd Semester.
College Bursaries/Discounts
Parents, who because of recent financial hardship are finding it difficult to meet educational costs, are invited to apply for a College Bursary. The availability of bursary funds is assessed on an annual basis and as such applications must also be made annually in February.
Information and Application Forms are available from the Finance Officer at Marcellin House. All applications are treated confidentially.
School Start Bonus - $300
The Victorian Government provides the School Start Bonus to all parents and/or guardians who have a child starting Prep or Year 7 in 2008. This payment is to help cover the cost of uniforms, school bags, books and other related education expenses and to give students a positive start at school.
Payments vouchers are produced by the College and forwarded to parents on behalf of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
