Year 7 and 8 focusses on building breadth and depth, based on the Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS) documentation against which students are rated. Numeracy and literacy skills become more sophisticated and important learning competencies such as, research, analysing, evaluating, creating and presenting are extended.

Discipline-based skills and interdisciplinary skills are developed and refined and are incorporated into each subject to enhance understanding and prepare students for meaningful, life-long learning experiences. |
Year 7 Transition extends the relationships between Primary School and the College. Both Presentation and St. Paul’s Campuses offer a variety of opportunities to support students as they continue their learning journey. Camps, Protective Behaviour Seminars and Pastoral activities assist with the transition from Primary to Secondary School.
Specialised programs are available for students with a passion for music, for those who are high ability learners (Gifted and Talented Program) and also those who require extra assistance (Homework Club). Lavalla has a proud sporting tradition which promotes healthy and active participation across a variety of sports.
