From Louise Webb, Year 11It was the best experience having someone from a different country come and stay with me. I learnt a lot of new things and made some really great friends. The best part was taking Giulia somewhere and watching her see something new or different. My father just recently got a letter from an American exchange student that stayed with him when he was my age, so I am sure that I will have these friends forever.
Loretta Mitchell, Year 11To start off with I wasnt sure if i could cope with having another student live with me. Vittoria and I got along very well and became good friends. It was great being able to meet up with everyone all the time and spend time just chilling. I'm going to miss every one of them a lot. It was sad on Tuesday when I woke up and had no one to get ready with. I miss them already
By Isabella Nocera and Loretta Mitchell, Year 11On the 4th of August 2009, a group of students from the 3 lote classes plus a few teachers and parents, travelled to Melbourne airport to meet with a group of Italian students from Padova. We were all excited to be hosting these students for two weeks. We all had different first impressions of each other such as: “Wow, they’re so tanned,” and Loretta’s unsubtle question, “which one is mine??”. It didn’t take very long for them to settle in and for us all to get to know each other. We went to various places such as: Melbourne (Luna Park, Eureka tower and the Victoria Markets), Phillip Island (The Penguin Parade, The Nobbies, and a Wildlife park), Walhalla, the AFL, Lakes Entrance, around the Latrobe Valley and our three campuses. It was a fantastic experience hosting them and we would be glad to do it all over again! It was a great opportunity to meet new people, for us Australians to practise our Italian and for the Italians to practise their English. Before we knew it the two weeks had come to an end, and it was time for us to say our goodbyes. More than a few tears were shed as we sadly farewelled our Italians, with whom many friendships were formed: friendships that will never be forgotten, but cherished FOREVER!!!! We thank them for all the fun, laughter & stories we shared. We will miss you all and hope to see you again!!!! Vi vogliamo tanto bene!! :)
By Melissa Larkins year 11Hosting a student from Padova was an excellent experience. I not only got to make a great new friend but I also learnt a lot about the Italian culture and many new Italian words. It was great fun and I know I have made a friend for life.
by Brittany Palmer year 10I really enjoyed hosting. it was a incredible experience and I learnt a lot from it
By IsabellaI absolutely loved having an exchange student. I believe it was a fantastic experience, good company, I would recommend it to anyone and would do it all over again. It was amazing how in just two short weeks we all became so close and such good friends. I loved having the opportunity to immerse someone from another country into ours, meeting a great bunch of new people and spending time to get to know each other. We had a lot of fun together and there was plenty of laughter but as their trip was coming to an end it was time to say good bye. I will always remember the great time we had together!! I miss them very much and hope to see them in the future. Vi voglio bene..
