Differentiated Learning

Staff at Lavalla Catholic College are continuously developing a rich and differentiated curriculum that takes into account different learning styles and ways of assessing student learning.
Classroom activities encourage higher thinking skills and enquiry learning. The College offers a wide range of VCE subjects, on and off campus VET studies, Foundation, Intermediate and Senior VCAL and Applied Learning options at Years 9 and 10.
There is also a Gifted Program at the junior campuses and opportunities for accelerated studies and enrichment in Years 10, 11 and 12. Suitable students can include a university subject as part of their year 12 studies.
Careers education is an important focus with Year 10 students undertaking a Work Experience placement and other senior students undertaking Work Placements as part of their VET and VCAL courses.

School based apprenticeships are also an option for senior students. The College employs a large number of support staff to assist teachers with the needs of individual students.
