Our role as the school captains of Lavalla Catholic College is basically to be the bridge or the connection between the staff and the students. We are the people that the students can come to if they have any problems, queries or ideas about the school and from this it is our job to help rectify these problems and ideas. Another one of our jobs is to help organise and run campus assemblies and whole school masses like our annual Champagnat Day Mass.
In our role we work closely with our vice captains, student representative council, Assistant Director of Campus (Pastoral) and the Director of Campus to make our school environment one that the staff and students feel safe and secure with.
One of our aims as captains is to try and establish stronger connections with our junior schools, their Student Representative Councils and their Director of Campus. This will hopefully achieve more of a closer bond between the junior and senior schools and will also help strengthen the College's community atmosphere.
It is a great honour for all of us and has given us the opportunity to exercise our full leadership potential. It has enabled us to take on one of the large active roles in the development of our new school. It is a fantastic feeling to know that you have had the opportunity to represent such a fantastic group of young people and this is an experience that we are very grateful for.
