Music
The underpinning tenant of music education at Lavalla Catholic College is to engage students in practical music making activities.
At the heart of our curriculum is singing using the Kodaly method. The skills learned within the classroom curriculum links directly to the large range of co-curricular ensembles provided, choirs, concert bands and jazz ensembles. Instrumental lessons are available in a wide range of woodwind, brass and percussion instruments as well as voice. These students form the basis of our widely recognised and extremely successful co-curricular ensembles. Music education has a long and proud history of excellence at the College with a large number of students moving from school to tertiary music studies and successful careers.
